Are you passionate about people and HR? Join our team as a (Junior) HR Advisor and play a key role in employee relations, onboarding, recruitment, and HR support.

Job description

HR Advisory & Operations

  • Act as the primary HR contact for assigned properties, providing day-to-day support and guidance to managers and team members.

  • Advise on employee relations matters, including absenteeism, workplace concerns, performance issues, and disciplinary processes.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and labor legislation while supporting their consistent and fair application.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation in collaboration with the HR Administration team.

  • Coordinate with Payroll, Recruitment, and Training teams to ensure effective HR service delivery.

  • Conduct regular property visits to stay aligned with operational and workforce needs.

Employee Relations

  • Support disciplinary meetings, investigations, and case management, including the preparation of warning letters, reports, and other HR documentation.

  • Monitor absenteeism trends and support managers with appropriate follow-up actions.

  • Serve as a trusted and neutral point of contact for employees, fostering a positive, professional, and inclusive work environment.

Manager Support & Coaching

  • Advise and coach managers on people management, employee performance, and workplace challenges.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, respect, teamwork, and employee engagement.

Job requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an operational HR role, such as HR Coordinator or HR Officer.

  • Basic knowledge of labor legislation and HR practices.

  • Experience within the hospitality or service industry is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Above average communication skills in English, Dutch, Papiamentu (Spanish is a plus).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Experience with HR systems such as AFAS, Nostradamus, and Salto is an advantage.

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Dutch, Papiamentu, and/or Spanish is a plus.
